The Chow Club of Victoria was formed in the seventies by a small group interested in promoting and protecting the breed. These foundation members included show enthusiasts as well pet owners.
Today the club is still small in number, The club organizes an annual Championship Show, an Open Show, two Members Comps /fun days and supports a Chow Rescue Service, the aim of which is to care and find new families for abandoned animals. The club produces a News Letter four times a year.
